Acrylic on Canvas Panel - 5 x 7 inches
A secluded corner of a property I toured last fall. I've been meaning to paint it, but wasn't sure I could make a successful composition of the thing. Every time I tried to map it out, that turret wound up dead center. I rearrange a few items and finally it fell into place.
This is a quick study to see if it works out. I may do a larger version soon. Maybe.
It is lovely and the light portrayed is breathtaking. Has a Cezanne feeling.
ReplyDeleteI frequently find scenes at a local arboretum, and they have the coolest little building like that, except the walls are a turquoise green - very picturesque. I always want to paint it, but it's the restroom! Somehow I don't feel right painting a toilet :)
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling. There's tons of neat little buildings in Golden Gate Park, and most of them are restrooms or utility sheds. They all look great at sunset.
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't have to TELL anyone it's the bathroom... "utility building" isn't exactly a lie, right? :)
ReplyDeleteExactly.
