Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, this is what I saw when I emerged from my tent, on our last camping trip.
I wanted to capture the smoky depth of the hills in the background before the fog burned off, combined with the emerging light in the foreground. I had to work very quickly and paint the last bits from memory.
